AM5 Motherboards Announced - Absolute Power

AMD has used the AM4 platform for a long time, however, it presently affirms that it intends to resign it and continue on to the new AM5 stage.

On January 4th, 2022, AMD confirmed the upcoming Ryzen 7000 (Raphael) CPUs, coming with the new AM5 socket. Later at Computex 2022, numerous AM5 motherboards were announced. The Ryzen 7000 will support three chipsets:

  • X670
  • X670E
  • B650
The Flagship X670 stage will be focused on enthusiasts and will accompany a scope of fancy odds and ends to capitalize on the cutting-edge AMD CPUs. MSI, Asus And ASrock have already announced a few models of their X670 mobos, however, they're not by any means the only producers to make AM5boards

Only X670 and X670E chipsets will support PCIe 5.0, while the B650 mobos will not support PCIe 5.0. The X670E (Extreme) chipset makes things a stride further and offers support for outrageous overclocking as well as PCIe 5.0 support through both the PCIe and M.2 slots. The X670 stage, then again, limits PCIe 5.0 help to only the M.2 space. All the AM5 motherboards will support DDR5 memory.

MSI Motherboards

MSI has announced three motherboards for the new AM5 platform.
  • MSI Pro X670-P Wifi
  • MSI MEG X670E Ace
  • MSI MPG X670 Carbon Wifi
Although MSI has announced the X670 Godlike motherboard, there are not many leaks out there. However, we know that the Godlike may come with an E-ATX form factor.

Asus Motherboards

Coming towards Asus, the brand has announced 5 motherboards.

ASUS is exponentially amplifying the impact of the new AM5 platform across 5 motherboard series:
  • Asus Prime
  • Asus Tuf Gaming
  • Asus Proart
  • Asus ROG Strix
  • Asus ROG Crosshair
However, the names and designs of the motherboards are not final.
As always, Asus is perfect.

Gigabyte Motherboards

Gigabyte has also confirmed four X670 AM5 motherboards

These motherboards include:
  • Aorus Extreme
  • Aorus Master
  • Aorus Pro AX
  • Gigabyte Aero-D
Although they all are flagship motherboards, they come with the X670 chipset, not the X670E variant.

Other Motherboards

Other motherboards with AM5 sockets include ASRock X670E Taichi and Biostar X670E Valkyrie, but certainly, there are more motherboards on the way.

Without a doubt, more AMD Zen 4 motherboards will continue in the weeks to come, and we'll update you as often as possible as we catch wind of them. Up until this point, obviously, both AMD and motherboard producers are anxious to take a portion of the spotlight from Intel and carry AMD higher than ever of overclocking and very good quality execution. The sit-tight for the cutting-edge AMD processors will undoubtedly be invigorating, as a lot more details are yet to be uncovered.
