Nowadays, we have a variety of communication methods available to us, ranging from simple texting and voice messages to more formal email conversations. While phone calls are an option, they are often considered less common. Interestingly, sending short, spontaneous, and unpolished video clips has become a popular means of communication, initially popularized by Snapchat before it was acquired by Meta's apps.
Speaking of Meta's apps, it appears that WhatsApp, another prominent platform, is also venturing into the realm of video messaging. WABetaInfo recently discovered this upcoming feature in beta updates for both Android and iOS versions of the app, which is already accessible to some beta testers.

The video messaging button will occupy the same space as the voice messaging button, allowing users to switch between the two modes with a single tap. From a safety perspective, these video messages will be end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that only the sender and recipient can access them. Furthermore, recipients won't be able to forward the video message to others. However, unless manually deleted, the video message will remain in the chat after being sent.
Although the feature is currently in beta, it can be expected that such a fundamental addition will eventually make its way to the stable version of WhatsApp in the near future.
