Vivo to be Banned from Germany

\

Following a legal battle with Nokia, Oppo, and OnePlus ceased sales in Germany last summer. Now, Vivo has also decided to shut down its online store in the country. In April, a German court ruled in favor of Nokia, stating that vivo had infringed upon a Nokia patent about WLAN connections in their smartphones. This infringement is the same reason why Oppo and OnePlus temporarily withdrew from the German market.

Without prior notice, Vivo's website has now been closed, making it impossible for German consumers to purchase vivo smartphones. The German branch of vivo provides a brief statement indicating that their products are currently unavailable, but existing vivo smartphone owners will still receive customer service and software updates.

It's important to note that the patent lawsuit originates from Nokia's Finnish branch, specifically concerning the equipment supplier, and not HMD Global, the current operator of Nokia's smartphone business.
